Isabella Colman is an enthusiastic Textile Designer who specialises in both screen and digitally printed textiles. She is inspired by the detailed illustrations of traditional, historical and modern motifs and therefore has a very broad and versatile design style.
Born and raised in Victoria, after completing High School and spending 12 months travelling abroad, Isabella went straight to RMIT to complete her Bachelor of Arts – Textile Design.
Isabella’s broad range of fine line illustration, CAD generated design, painted, textured and layered design style mixed with her love for pattern and colour produces fresh and original ideas, in a fun yet sophisticated manner.
As well as being a print major, Isabella has extensive textile knowledge of repeat systems, fibres, embellishments and knit and weave structures.
Although Isabella is yet to have any extensive professional design experience, she learnt a lot about the industry while interning with ‘Design to Print’. During her internship, Isabella was able to design wall papers for any room in the home on a freelance basis. Although she absolutely loved designing at such a large scale, she still enjoys the idea of working commercially in the fashion field.
