Second Semester of 2013 has offered our 2nd Year students in the Digital Textile Design and the Marketplace Course an opportunity to work on a commercial project that will have the potential to see the winning designs go into production. The BATD program has strong and valued relationships with our Industry Partners and we work closely with them to ensure that graduates have relevant skills when entering the workforce.

We had the pleasure of working with Ladelle again this year. Students were asked to develop a range of print repeats for contemporary homewares products. Students were required to consider commercial trends, take account of Ladelle’s style and to work with the idea of innovation as the basis of their design development.

Ladelle generously awarded the top three students with cash prizes and a work placement for Cassie – our 1st prize-winner. Awards were presented at Ladelle’s head office on Tuesday 3rd December.

Congratulations to Cassie Byrnes, Sophie Lee and Jackie Young.
